I feel like I’ve tried everything in the books when it comes to skincare. Everyone wants to find that one product that works for them, and that was always up in the air for me. Not to mention, I have sensitive skin and have on occasion, I have tried new products only to have my skin break out in a rash and puff up. Ever since then, I have been weary to try new skincare products. I usually do a lot of research on them to make sure they will be okay for my skin, then and only then will I try them.
Then the other day, I got word from Simple Skincare. I had heard about them, but had never tried them. I knew that their tagline was “Sensitive Skin Experts” and well, that was appealing so I said I would try them out! I’m so glad that I did. My face is loving the cleansers (plus makeup remover towelettes) and lotions too!
With summer around the corner, I know that my skin will be getting a lot of sun, and with that, it usually gets pretty dry. So my favorite item in their product box that they sent me was the protecting light moisturizer which is also SPF 15 and oil free. I’ve been putting it on in the morning right after I was my face and it really goes on smooth and feels nice. And I know it will provide me some extra protection from the sun.
The Skincare Product Lineup
Also in this same lineup, you’ll find some other great products from Simple, including:
- Simple Ultra-Light Gel Moisturizer ($10.99) – Gives instant hydration with it’s skin-loving ingredients and multi-vitamins. It absorbs fast and leaves your skin soft with the perfect base for your makeup.
- Simple Nourishing 24-Hour Day/Night Cream ($10.99) – A deep hydration moisturizer provides you with smooth and soft skin.
- Simple Protecting Light Moisturizer with SPF 15 ($10.99) – An oil-free, non-greasy, hypoallergenic, light moisturizer that gives you sun protection (SPF 15) as well.
- Simple Cleansing Facial Wipes ($5.99) – Super soft facial wipes contain skin-loving ingredients to help cleanse and remove impurities and makeup gently. They are great for gym bags, desk drawers or even your handbag.
- Simple Eye Make-up Remover Pads ($6.99) – A kind and gentle eye makeup remover that knows your eyes and skin can be sensitive!
- Simple Foaming Facial Wash ($6.99) – A strong but gentle facial cleanser that foams with 100% fresh and clean ingredients. It helps to clean pores, and remove both impurities and makeup.
All of these products from Simple are dermatologist tested and contain no harsh chemicals, artificial perfumes or dyes, and no parabens.
I have not had ANY problems with my skin reacting to the ingredients in their products, and that is assurance in itself to me.
The Skincare Survey
Now Simple also did a survey recently that studied the skincare habits of women in major US cities, and what they found was really interesting! I wanted to share a little bit from their findings because I think we can all relate to what these women confessed.
First, I want to set the scene for you. The study was done with the launch of Simple’s new “Kind to City Skin” initiative, which is aimed at helping women understand the impact that city living (both environmental and lifestyle-related) can have on their faces.
With that being said, here are some interesting tidbits that they discovered:
- Nearly 9 in 10 women (89%) describe their skincare habits as ‘healthy’ but yet their behaviors show there is room for improvement.
- 59% of the women studied are not actively trying to protect their skin from things like sun or wind. This is where their Moisturizer with SPF comes in.
- Half of the women surveyed claim they’re striving for a healthy diet specifically to keep their skin looking great, but thousands of women are missing out on the foods that can help work wonders for your skin like Brussels sprouts, walnuts, salon and avocados.
- 63% of women know their stress level affects the health of their skin, but yet over half of them are not actively trying to reduce it currently. Making an effort to unwind can actually help your skin be less permeable to external factors like makeup or weather.
- 50% of survey respondents were unaware that exercise can increase blood flow and help flush cellular debris out of their system, helping to improve the overall appearance of their skin.
My Skincare Habits
I’m usually pretty good when it comes to taking off makeup and using products that will not react with my skin, but I have a habit of touching my face a lot (adding oils and bacteria to my face) and I also sometimes forget my sunscreen when we are outside. But I’m glad that I can add the protecting moisturizer into my skin care routine so that even if I forget sunscreen, I won’t be completely unprotected.

Also, I sometimes don’t wash off my makeup when I go to bed. The Good- I drink a lot of water.. good for the skin. I take vitamins. I started to always wear sunscreen.

I wash my face twice a day, drink plenty of water, and exercise every day. Exercise is very good for your skin. If you exercise rigorously, you naturally drink more water, and when you sweat from the exercise, you tend to want to cleanse after. Ripple effect demonstrated!
Beth
My bad habits are touching my face throughout the day – too much oil gets on my skin, but I tend to rest my hand on my chin when I’m sitting at my desk. Bad!
