If you follow me on Instagram, you probably seen that we took a fun little road trip last weekend for my birthday. We took our little fam to Wisconsin Dells for a fun getaway. We made it a four-day trip so we left on Thursday morning and got back Sunday evening. It was the perfect amount of time, although I’d definitely recommend if you’re going to do it, to add a day or two to make up for any bad weather days. While we were there, we had one and a half sunny days which made it a little more difficult for waterpark days vs. ending up at indoor attractions.
So Thursday afternoon we made it out to Delton Oaks Resort there in Wisconsin Dells, which is right on Lake Delton. It was the perfect spot for us, it was out of the chaos of the center of the Dells, yet only a few minutes away from all the fun at the same time. Plus it was such a nice place to just kick back and get away from it all!
Upon pulling in, I was so excited to see that our room was right on the lake, right off of a beautiful beach. Little Miss couldn’t get her sand toys fast enough, and before I knew it she was off building sandcastles and filling up buckets of water. She couldn’t have been happier! So we were off to a great start 🙂
As my husband and I brought our bags into our room, we were excited for our long weekend there!
It felt like a vacation here, we were able to just kick back and sit on our patio with a drink and look over the lake. It was so calm and quiet.
Our room was perfect. We had two queen size beds, a full fridge, microwave, outdoor grill, full bathroom and everything you’d need. The other rooms that are lakeside have full kitchens so you’d also have an oven, stovetop, and everything to have your family meals right there in your room. Save money on eating out, and eat a little healthier that way too.
Delton Oaks Resort also has an outdoor heated pool (which was so nice and warm!) and everything you could want for lounging outside including lawn games and a fire pit that guests are welcome to enjoy every day/night. They even had paddle boards and kayaks you could check out (for free!) and use for an hour at a time. This was a huge hit at the resort while we were there, people were loving taking out the kayaks and paddle boards and just paddling along the shoreline of the lake. Beautiful scenery and relaxing water, what more could you ask for?
And in case you get tired of lounging by the lake (is that possible?), the resort offers free tickets to Noah’s Ark waterpark to all their guests, so you can check out the waterslides, rides, and wave pool while you’re staying in the Dells!
We really enjoyed our stay there, and met the owners who were incredibly kind and accommodating. They said they were slowly making upgrades since they purchased the resort a few years ago. And it’s really come a long way! The rooms now have gorgeous hardwood floors, flat screened TV’s and new appliances. You can tell they’re doing their best to make guests feel right at home!
It was such a fun time, and little miss had a blast. She already wants to go back someday! Here’s hoping 🙂
Til next time,
Sarah
