We love whenever we get the chance to visit Colorado, it really feels like an extension of Minnesota because the two are so similar in many ways. So when we do make it out to Denver, we have some favorite stops that we like to make. I wanted to share them with you today in case you’re taking a road trip out that way in the near future or plan to travel to the area someday. Here are some of our favorite stops we have made over the years! A special thank you to our friends at the Colorado Buick dealer for some extra ideas to add to the list.
6. Lollipop Park – Whenever it was rainy, we tend to gravitate toward the indoor activities. My daughter loved this indoor amusement park geared just for little tots. There are small rides and activities there for them to do and she loved that it was just her size.
5. Red Rock Ampitheater – Great exercise and seriously beautiful architecture, the Red Rock Ampitheater is a great place to find some hiking, walking and even concerts depending on when you stop in. Be sure to check out the schedule and see if anything is going on when you are in town.
4. Centennial Center Park – We love checking out this 11 acre park located just outside of Denver. It has a huge splash pad, a spacious park and so much for kids to do. Not to mention, it’s completely free!
3. Denver Trolley – If you want to ride a historic trolley and see the sights of the city, check out the Denver Trolley. They take you on a fun journey through the city (including a stopat the Children’s Museum) and past Mile High Stadium.
2. Chidren’s Museum Denver – Such a fun little spot for all ages, this Children’s museum offered something for everyone.
1. Coors Field – Even if you’re not big baseball fans, it’s always fun to get out and see Coors Field. It’s a beautiful stadium and the Rockies are fun to watch. There’s even a playground inside the stadium (my daughter’s favorite part) and a play area as well. The kids can play and mom and dad can have a drink and watch the game all at the same time!
What would you add to the list? I’m always looking for more suggestions! Leave a comment below and share.
