Well last post, I told you that my garden was coming along. I had no pictures of proof, but I think most of you probably believed me. Well, I have since taken some photos and am going to share my little pride and joy!
I know it’s hard to see exactly what’s going on here, but there’s (kind of) a method to my madness. On the right, you’ll notice all my tomato plants. Go team tomato! The next row up includes (from left to right) cantaloupe, strawberries, basil and pineapple mint. The row on the left has pumpkins, and watermelon. Not pictured are the rows of sweet corn (sort of a fail whale) and carrots. RIP green bean plants, of which the rabbits had a field day with. Isn’t it odd that they chose those over carrots? Maybe I’m just stereotyping now, but the whole matter really threw me for a loop.
The black thing you see winding around the garden is a soaker hose, I’d never heard of them until this year but the lady at the garden center said they’re the best so I just had to have one. It’s working SOOO well so far! It makes it way easy to water the garden without having to stand there and hold a hose.
Another thing I wanted to try out this year is the topsy turvy contraption. I was skeptical when I see them on TV because it seems like when things are sold on TV they never really work. But let me tell you, this sucker is the best!! The plant is huge, it retains water really well, and it’s really nice to not have to weed this plant like I do the rest of them.
I didn’t have the guts to put them all in topsy turvy’s so, I tested it. Well now I wish I would have put them all in there because it’s so easy and nice to have! No, I didn’t receive any money from Topsy Turvy, nor any products sadly. I just really like the product! 🙂
Well that’s the garden for now! I will post pictures when I finally start harvesting all my good crops. For now, all that’s ripening are the wild raspberries, which I didn’t plant – so I can’t even take credit for them! 🙂 But they’re really yummy!
Until next time,
Hearts!
Sarah
