I am a Stitchfix Affiliate, however I purchase these boxes on my own. All opinions are mine.
The other day, I received an email from Stitch Fix that they were doing a program with Give Back Box. For this program, you could receive a shipping label from Stitchfix, and then you’d fill a box of used clothing you didn’t want anymore and they would donate it to those in need. In exchange for sending in your used items, Stitchfix would also give you a $25 credit towards your next box’s purchases. I figured you really couldn’t go wrong so of course I participated and sent in a bunch of items that I was no longer wearing anymore. Easy enough!
Factoring in the $20 styling fee that you pay upfront, then you can put it towards your next purchase, I figured I was already ahead $45 by the time my next box came! Win-win.
I desperately needed some cute summer clothes, and since I am horrible at shopping for myself sometimes, I figured I’d like Stitchfix style me and give me some ideas on what would be cute for my closet. So I made a note to my stylist that I wanted some cute but comfortable summer clothes and scheduled it up.
It arrived a day early, and I got a little too excited when I see the beautiful box sitting on my front step. It was time!
Of course I ripped my Stitch Fix box open as soon as I got inside because I was so excited at what was going to be in there. It’s always like a little gift to yourself except you never know what you’re going to get. I do usually know though, that it is going to fit, and it is going to be tailored to my ‘style’ or tastes.
Right on top, the first thing I seen when I opened the box, was a pair of Kate Spade Blooming Pave Studs. They were rose gold and seriously gorgeous. If I were going to splurge, this would be the time.
Next, four more garments all picked out especially for me. There was one tank, a dress, a lightweight sweater and a pair of coral shorts. Other than my Lululemon shorts, I don’t have much for shorts in general – so this was a good surprise!
I was really happy with the colors, patterns, sizes, and styles right away. It all looked like things that I would typically wear, however maybe wouldn’t usually grab off the rack if I were to see them. That’s the joy of it, I get to branch out a little bit and find out what works for me instead of trying on everything in the store.
Plus, then I get to try things on in the comfort of my own bedroom. With my very own little toddler telling me which things she likes and which things she doesn’t like. That’s not provided by Stitch Fix though, that’s just her being kind.
I am really struggling with what to pick from this box, because I love the sweater (it’s soooo soft) and the shorts, but I also love the dress, and the tank is really cute with the shorts… It’s a tough decision! If I were to purchase everything in the box, they do give you a 25% off “Buy All” discount which would save me $57 this time around.
In case you’re wondering, the breakdown of the itemized pricing looked something like this:
- Gray sweater: $40
- Kate Spade earrings: $58
- Navy T-Shirt dress: $38
- Printed tank top: $44
- Coral shorts: $48
If I did want to buy everything, it’d be $151 after my “buy all” discount and my styling fee applied. Then with my credit from the Give Back Box, I’d be able to purchase everything here for only $126.
That’s a pretty big win in my book! Especially for having my own personal stylist to have picked it out for me, shipping it to my home, and all that jazz.
What do you think, what would you keep out of this box? (Leave me a comment and let me know!)
And as a side note, if you want to try out Stitch Fix for yourself, I highly recommend it! It’s always really fun to get some new options in your wardrobe with minimal effort 🙂 You can sign up by clicking any of the links in this article, or visit the banner to the right to get started.
I hope you love it, I sure do!
Til next time,
Sarah
