Okay Minnesota moms — get ready, because I have something super fun for you to add to your calendar next weekend. There’s a brand-new spot opening in the North Loop called Fowling Minneapolis, and they’re throwing a huge Grand Opening party on Saturday, September 13, 2025 — and it’s totally FREE to attend!
If you’ve never heard of Fowling (don’t worry, I hadn’t either until now), it’s basically the perfect mash-up of two things Minnesotans love: football + bowling. Here’s how it works: you stand at one end of the lane and throw a football, aiming at your opponent’s set of 10 pins. First team to knock them all down wins! Simple, competitive, and definitely a good laugh — especially when you miss wildly (which, let’s be real, I definitely will).
Here’s what you can expect if you head downtown for the big opening:
- 🎀 Ribbon Cutting Ceremony at 10:30 a.m. with the Minneapolis Downtown Council
- 🎳 Free Fowling All Day – be one of the first to play in Minneapolis
- 🎁 Giveaways & Prizes happening throughout the day
- 🍔 Full Menu of Food, Craft Beer & Cocktails – perfect for a mom’s day out
- 🎉 Fun, High-Energy Atmosphere that works for friends, couples, or even a family outing
Fowling Minneapolis is located at 401 Royalston Avenue, which is super convenient — right by Target Field and the Minneapolis Farmers Market. So you could easily make a whole day of it: grab a coffee, hit the market, and then stop in to throw some footballs around.
The space is huge — we’re talking 32,000 square feet, 21 lanes, and a full bar and kitchen. They even have a private event space, which is giving me ideas for a future moms’ night out or maybe even a birthday party for the football lovers in your life.
📅 Mark Your Calendar:

You can follow @fowlingmsp on Instagram and Facebook to keep up with all the details, sneak peeks, and future events.
Whether you go with your kids, your girlfriends, or make it a date night, this is such a fun way to try something new, move a little, and soak up the downtown energy. And honestly — how often do you get to play for free in a brand-new venue?
I’m definitely putting this one on my calendar. Who’s in?
Hearts,
Sarah
