We collaborated with Tiny Moments Photography and Carrie the Moment Sales + Events for this post, and received images to review. All opinions are mine.
I can’t believe it’s come to be February already! As you guys know, if you follow me on Instagram, we welcomed our baby girl in December and it’s been a whirlwind ever since. I thought the first time around was chaotic but add together a toddler and a newborn and that’s a whole new level of crazy. I’ve had to step up my mental capacity and get creative with some things to make it all work but hey, we’re still standing!
After Emma was born, Stefany with Tiny Moments Photography offered to do a newborn photo shoot for her! We never did this with my first so it was all new to me, but I had regretted not doing it with my first daughter so I was excited to try it with Emma!
Preparing for a Newborn Photo Shoot
First off, I was relieved to hear that I didn’t need to go out and buy any outfits or props, Stefany had them all already! One less thing for me to do when I already had very limited time and energy. And when I say she had all the outfits and swaddles, she REALLY does. She had a whole wall full of swaddles and outfits and props, there was no shortage in that!
We also tried not to put anything on too tight that would create indent lines, and even made sure to use a soft/non-invasive pacifier so that it wouldn’t leave any marks either.
Since babies are so sleepy, it was somewhat easy to get her situated but you know, babies have a mind of their own. Stefany pulled out all the stops; the white noise, the shushing machine, dim lighting, warm atmosphere (oh yes, dress like you’re going on vaca because you may get a little warm – but that’s good for the baby!)
Stefany is such a sweetheart, it was like we were at a friend’s house just hanging out while she took photos of my squishy newborn. She had a little area for the family to sit and relax while she did her thing which was really nice (especially with the toddler in tow).
During the Photo Shoot
I tried to stay out of the way during the newborn shoot, I didn’t want to interrupt the process, but it was really fun seeing her work. Stefany just has a soft and gentle way with babies and you can tell that she knew how to calm them, position them and just make them cute and comfortable.
So essentially we just hung out, chatted and let her do her thing for about 2 hours. And when all was said it done, it was extremely painless and my toddler even said on the way out, “That was fun, mom!” lol
Then about 2-3 weeks later, I received a link to my photos and my jaw dropped. They were SO. GOOD. I showed my husband and he said they were the cutest things he’s ever seen in his life. I think that’s a pretty big statement! Even though he said the ones of him really showed how tired parenthood has made us both look (thanks honey).
I wanted to share some of my favorite ones that Stefany took, just to demonstrate how amazing she is.
Isn’t she amazing?? I love them so much.
