So back before I had my little one, I did a lot of research. I tried to prepare myself the best I could before she came. However, most of my must-have baby items were purchased after her arrival! I discovered many different things that solved the problems new moms often stumble upon that pregnant moms never even knew existed.
For that reason, I wanted to help share the top products that I’ve gotten that have made such a huge difference in my life with little A.
10. Happiest Baby on the Block DVD – My friend Sarah over at MidwestPillowtalk gave me this suggestion basically as soon as we found out we were pregnant. She said it was a game-changer with her first child, and I’d heard from other that it made their lives as new parents so much better. So, instead of reading the book (because who has time for that!) I rented the DVD from the library. I think it’s probably about 50 minutes long, and totally worth watching a couple times before baby comes. Plus, it was easier to talk my husband into watching a movie versus reading a big book!
9. Up & Up Gas Relief Drops – Writing this here will probably embarrass her later on in life but she’ll cope I’m sure. Anyways, as a wee little infant she was so uncomfortable with gas. We tried gripe water, gas drops from other brands, nothing was really effective. I finally tried the Up&Up brand of infant gas relief drops and bam – instant relief for her. We could probably buy stock in these now we’ve bought so many but they’re the best things I’ve found by far.

8. Nose Frida – Gah. Pre-baby, I swore these things were disgusting and I’d never own one. Fast forward about two days postpartum and I’m scouring the aisles of Walmart and Target at 10:00PM to desperately try to find one. She was so congested and miserable, she was having a hard time eating, and I could just hear the mucus in her nose. The hospital bulb thingie wasn’t doing the trick and was a constant battle to use on her. Fast forward to today, I swear by this thing. When she gets ‘big old boogies’ up in her nose, this thing sucks them right out. I know, it looks gross but it has a filter and I’ve never once had any issues swallowing a booger. Promise.
7. Boon Bottle Rack – My husband actually found this one at Target. We were originally placing all the bottles and bottle pieces upside down on a towel and it was easy to knock them all over, they weren’t drying very fast, and it was such a mess. This bottle rack is phenomenal for drying bottles, keeping them stable, and it’s pretty too!

6. Baby Shusher – Once you’ve watched the Happiest Baby on the Block DVD, you’ll know that one of his S’s is shushing. Now I don’t know about you, but I run out of steam shushing for over a minute. This little guy is probably a little bigger than the size of your hand and is cord-free. It shushes for you and soothes your little one when they are fussy. Must. Have.
5. Boba Wrap – This super soft, stretchy and comfortable baby carrier has been amazing for me. I’ve taken it to the park, shopping, to get-togethers, on walks, you name it and she absolutely loves it. Many times, she ends up falling asleep because it wraps her up so nice and tight to my chest and I think it’s so similar to being in the womb that the rhythm of my steps just lulls her to sleep.
4. Bumbo – I never thought I’d buy one of these (didn’t see the point before baby) but sure enough, as soon as she was about 3 months old and starting to get good head control, I caved. It helps them to sit up and look around at things, which she loves. Plus, you can get a tray for them as well and put toys on there or use it as a portable high chair. I often times sit it next to her activity mat (see #3) and she plays with the toys while sitting for a whole new perspective!

3. Activity Center – We have a couple activity centers (one activity mat, one jumper) that my daughter absolutely loves. The first one, one of my besties gave me and little A just loves laying on the mat and reaching for all the hanging toys. The other one we purchased from Babies ‘R Us after doing some research. Both items help her to get out some energy and wear her out, which in turn keeps her occupied for a while and helps her nap better.

2. Wubbanub – After driving with a screaming infant, you’ll quickly search for something that helps them NOT lose their pacifier every five seconds. I found the Wubbanub after a friend of mine said it was a sanity-saver. There are all kinds of different colors and animal designs, and it helps keep the paci in place instead of falling into a black hole that is the car seat.
1. Miracle Blanket Swaddle – This one was praised over and over in my mom groups but I always thought, I have swaddle blankets, what could possibly be so much different? Well a lot, actually. After purchasing one miracle blanket and using it for one night, she slept longer than she ever had before. And last night, she slept 10 hours. We’ve been using the miracle blanket swaddle ever since.

If you haven’t started a Target baby registry yet, be sure to do so. Or Amazon, sometimes that’s the easier way to go for people, believe it or not!
Add these products to your registry, and you’ll be set! Plus, when I had my baby registry there, they sent me all kinds of amazing baby coupons, and after my baby showers, they gave me 15% off coupons for the remaining items on my registry. I used that on a Boppy, some Boppy covers, diapers, formula, etc.
Are you a new mom? What items would you add to this list? There are so many great baby products out on the market right now that it’s so hard to narrow it down to just ten! 🙂

Hearts,
Sarah
