I’ve talked about my numerous experiences of picking out a new SUV on the blog. So I know firsthand how difficult it can be to weigh your priorities when choosing a new vehicle. Sometimes you’re most consumed by your needs in the new vehicle like how many people it seats, or what it can tow or how much cargo room it has. Beyond that, you might also be trying to figure out your budget and what you’re able to afford. So what other things should you be considering when it is time to purchase that new SUV? Here’s what you might not have thought about.
Typical Considerations
Things most people put at the top of their list include;
- How many car seats they can fit, or how many passengers
- Price range or monthly payments
- Safety features of the vehicle
- New technology features (bluetooth, navigation, sound system)
These are typically the things on the top of most people’s list. But there are more things to consider, according to one of our favorite Ohio Ram dealers. So what are some of these things that most of us don’t think about? Let’s take a look a little deeper into purchasing your new SUV.
Things You Forget to Think About
It’s easy to fall in love with the appearance or seemingly flawlessness of a vehicle but what you really want to look at is the performance of the vehicle and how it will fit into your daily life. Here are some further things to consider that you might not have thought of yet.
- Gas mileage (highs and averages plus a break-in period)
- Vehicle history report (once you’ve found one you like)
- What are your warranty options
- Have a test drive checklist
- Consider financing options
- Will it perform in your typical weather conditions (especially other seasons)
- Type of engine and/or fuel type
