Summer is by far my favorite season of the year. I love that the sun is finally shining and more importantly, you can finally go out as a family and explore nature, go on adventures and just enjoy time together. And while I’ve learned the hard way on what you should pack, I’m here with my friends over at the New York Hyundai dealer to give you tips for packing your family vehicle for the summer so that you are always prepared for whatever comes your way!
Pack Efficiently
First off, being prepared might mean a bit more cargo than normal. For this reason, try to pack as strategically as you can to minimize the amount of space your checklist items take up. Mostly because if they take up the majority of your cargo space, odds are that these items are getting tossed out of the vehicle.
Think Strategically
While you’re packing your vehicle with summer must-haves, think of all of the places you might go on a moment’s notice. For us, this is likely a beach, splash-pad, or pool so my must-have checklist includes a spare towel, spare swimsuit and a few swim diapers. Think strategically about where you typically end up on last-minute excursions. If you love to hike, swim or just hit the open trail, account for that.
Also think about what you’ve been left empty-handed with before. Maybe you forgot sunscreen, or bug spray, or a first aid kit. These are all items I pack into my kit so that I never have to think to myself, “Darn it, I wish I would’ve packed ____”.
Summer Family Vehicle Checklist
So here it is, what I have put together as my must-have pack list for my vehicle in the summer. Trust me, these items have come in handy more than a couple times.
What items do you pack in your car for the summer? Leave a comment below, I’d love to hear!
