You’ve heard the phrase, “This is why we can’t have nice things” and typically it comes following something a child has done. We all know that doesn’t stop once you get into the vehicle. That’s why today’s post is covering the must-have items you need to invest in to keep your car looking nice, despite having kids. A special shout-out to our resources at this Ohio Jeep dealer, for helping us complete our list!
Seat Protectors
This is a must when it comes to keeping your seats looking nice. Not only should you invest in the protector to go under the child’s car seats but also you can find seat protectors that go on the backs of the front seats to protect them from dirty shoes kicking the backs of your seats. Some of these even have a spot to hold an iPad for the kids to watch movies on, that’s a bonus!
WeatherTech Mats
My husband invested in these for me a couple years ago and trust me, they’re well worth the money. Essentially they are just tough plastic mats that replace your factory floor mats. However they catch all the crud and gunk that can often get tracked into your vehicle, saving you time from the cleaning and all the headaches that come with that.
Scotchguard Protectant
When I had cloth seats, sometimes I found that even the seat protectors just didn’t cut it. Kids don’t tend to aim their messes, they are just little tornadoes. In this case, I took the time to spend $5 on a bottle of Scotchguard and spray down my seats. It helps to block liquids from absorbing and builds a little barrier from the mess.
Bring in a Trash Can
Keep your backseat disaster to a minimum when you bring in a designated bin for trash to go into. I realize half the battle is getting the kids to use it, but when they do, it’ll be a night and day difference in your vehicle.
These are just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to products that’ll keep your vehicle looking nice (despite having kids back there!) What tips have you found help to keep your car clean? Share in the comments below.
