When I was in college, it was common to call a cab or taxi if you needed to get somewhere if you didn’t want to ride or wait around for the bus. You’d call a toll-free number, sit around in a designated area and wait for them to arrive – all the while only knowing that a yellow taxi cab would be coming for you, but that’s all you’d know.
Now days, so much has changed and we have the opportunity to request a ride from anywhere to anywhere and have someone there usually within minutes. If you’re new to rideshare apps, you might be a little overwhelmed with all the options and how it all works. So with some help from friends at this Michigan Jeep dealer, we put together a list of some of the most used rideshare apps.
Uber
One of the top two most popular rideshare apps (currently in a stiff competition with Lyft), this service offers a wide variety of other services as well including options for businesses, Uber Eats, Uber Health and more.
Lyft
The other most popular app, it’s available in a number of cities across the nation and has a great reputation for their drivers.
ExecuCar
Looking for executive rides? Book a fancier business ride with ExecuCar where they boast, “higher standards, better rides”. Get black car airport rides or just ride in style.
Sidecar
A smaller rideshare app, this one is just emerging in the market. The difference between Sidecar and it’s competitors is that it allows users to set their own pricing which allows for better discounts and possibly cheaper rides.
Rideout
Much like Uber and Lyft, Rideout allows you to book rides both scheduled and unscheduled. Beyond that, you can book a limo, town car, shuttle, taxi, SUV and more from the comfort of the app.
Rideshare apps are becoming increasingly popular and they are a great way to get from point A to point B easily and cost-effectively. Not only that, but some of these apps also help to cut down on emissions. In all, it’s a win-win! Which app do you love? Share in the comments below!
