If you are a mom, it may have crossed your mind by now that you might want to switch from your car to a minivan. There are many reasons why people choose to purchase a minivan; the space, the ease of entry, extra cargo, and sliding car doors (no more door dings!) So when it comes to the various options for minivans out there, here is a simple guide to breakdown the various features of some of the most popular minivans out there.
Honda Odyssey – The Odyssey seats up to 8 people, and gets around 28 mpg highway! Newer models even have a built-in vacuum. Brilliant! The Odyssey is also applauded for it’s plethora of cargo space.
Chrysler Town & Country – This Maryland Chrysler dealer tells us that the Town & Country is known for it’s good gas mileage, and reliability. However, the Town & Country has been discontinued now, but 2016 and earlier models are still available.
Kia Sedona – A spruced-up minivan that seats up to 8 people, the Sedona is very spacious with plenty of storage. It’s also found on the more affordable end of the spectrum which is appealing to families on a budget.
Chrysler Pacifica – Known to be the replacement to the Town & Country, the Pacifica is all about safety. It features a 360 degree camera, forward collision warning, and more. It also has Stow ‘n Go seats, and the higher end models have the built-in vacuums as well!
Dodge Grand Caravan – Seats up to 7 people, features Stow ‘n Go seats, and the rear seat even folds up! You’ll also find the Grand Caravan to be budget-friendly.
Toyota Sienna – A great minivan option with All Wheel Drive (AWD), the Sienna offers plenty of space for up to 8 riders along with an intercom that reaches from the first row to the third row. It also features an entertainment system as well to entertain kids on long trips.
Things to Consider…
When shopping for a minivan, there are some things to consider. To start, how many people you can fit in the van comfortably. Then, how much space will you have for cargo? What other features does the vehicle have? You may also want to consider the height of the vehicle and what sort of step-in height you are working with. If you live in a colder climate, you’ll want to see if the van offers AWD.
Do you drive a minivan? What type do you own, and what do you like about it?
