I’ve driven a lot of cars. A lot. I used to sell them actually, a long time back. So I’m familiar with the many makes, and models that are available out there. I had some least favorites (but I won’t go into that here), but there were definitely some that were above the rest. Here are my favorite vehicles that are great for parents.
Side note: when looking into a vehicle for your family, be sure to check safety ratings, airbags, number of doors, ease of getting things into the vehicle, and storage space.
My Favorite Former Vehicles For Moms
- Chevrolet Equinox – This is possibly my favorite. It is small enough to not feel like a large truck, but big enough that it sits high and has plenty of room. It also gets me 21 mpg, and the back cargo area is perfect for storing strollers, Luna (our pup), or shopping bags… Just sayin’.
- Ford Explorer – I also liked this vehicle for the same reasons, however if you’re more of a Ford person than Chevy, then you’d probably go this route. Just be sure to check the engine size, because the vehicle I had was a V8, which meant my gas mileage was awful.
- Honda CRV – I was actually pleasantly surprised with this vehicle. I expected it to feel small, crammed and powerless but it was actually pretty comfortable and spacious. Plus, the back cargo area is decent-sized as well, and that is a big thing for moms!
- Toyota Camry – If you’re looking for an affordable vehicle that will run forever (or close anyways), then this one is what you need. It has a really comfortable ride, and feels like you’re driving a luxury vehicle. Plus, you can go as basic as you want, or get all the bells and whistles.
Vehicles I Want Someday
There are still a number of vehicles that I’d like to own at some point. Here’s my top picks:
- Chevrolet Colorado
- Chevrolet Traverse
- Jeep Grand Cherokee
