I know that I don’t have to say it, but I will. Parents have lots to worry about. What makes our lives easier though is technology because it gives us one less thing to worry about. It keeps the arguing and screaming in the car to a minimum, and it maintains a bit of silence during our days where there usually is none. Not to mention, driver-technology gives us moms a little bit of luxury while we normally feel like a taxi. That’s why being tech-friendly is one of a mom’s go-to concerns when it comes to choosing a vehicle. So today’s post is all about this; my top five picks for tech-friendly cars for moms.
“You don’t have to look too far to find some great tech-friendly options,” advises a Maryland Hyundai dealer. “Now days there are plenty of vehicles that provide some useful technology even on a budget.”
Here are my personal top five picks for my fellow parents.
Hyundai Sante Fe
First off, the Sante Fe has a third row which is a bonus for most parents. But beyond that, it’s stylish, and includes a rear USB-port for kids to hook up their tech to. The 2018 version also has a 360 degree camera, dual climate control and a hands-free lift gate. Win!
MSRP for 2018’s from $30,850
Ford Explorer
I love the Ford Explorer for moms. First off, it seats 7 passengers which offers that infamous third row that many families know and love. The 2018 model is equipped with SYNC 3 which is their voice activated technology that offers the hands-free services that is helpful for busy moms and dads! One last thing that is awesome about these is that they have the Ford+Alexa capability which is everything it sounds like and more.
MSRP for 2018’s start at $32,140
Chevrolet Traverse
Another option if you’re looking for third row seating is the Chevy Traverse. This new spin on a larger SUV is one of Chevy’s latest addition to the market (new as of 2008) offers a lot of luxury features plus cargo and seating space (8, if you’re keeping track) for large families. You can also opt for the in-vehicle wi-fi subscription service in case your kids want to run their entertainment on car rides. And one of my other favorite options in the Traverse is the Apple CarPlay and Android Auto feature which is compatible with both major brands of smartphones.
MSRP for 2018’s starting at $29,930
Audi Q3
The more budget-friendly version of the Audi SUV’s, is the Audi Q3. It offers countless tech options for both mom with heated seats, lift tailgate, panoramic sunroof, and also available in the Quattro version is all-wheel drive.
MSRP for 2018’s from $33,875
Toyota Highlander
One vehicle that comes up on every list for great family vehicles, is the Toyota Highlander. And it is a great vehicle, plus they’re known to run forever! Some of the top features in the newer models include great gas mileage (21 city, 27 highway) and lane departure alerts, plus a backup camera along with pedestrian and vehicle detection which are both great safety features to have. One more thing to note, is that all-wheel drive comes standard in everything but their base (LE) model.
MSRP for 2018’s start at $31,030
