Okay friends, mark your calendars because something fun is coming to Minneapolis this fall – and you’re going to want to grab a sitter or round up the kids for this one. Puttshack, the place that made mini golf cool again (yes, really), is officially opening its second Minnesota location in the North Loop on September 24!
What is Puttshack?
If you haven’t been to their Edina spot yet, here’s the scoop: this is not your grandma’s putt-putt course. We’re talking three nine-hole courses powered by Puttshack’s fancy Trackaball™ technology – no tiny pencils, no scorecard debates, and no chance for your overly competitive spouse to “accidentally” shave a stroke off their score. The whole thing is automated and keeps it moving, so you can focus on winning (or just sipping your cocktail in peace).
Speaking of cocktails… their bar menu is no joke. Think playful drinks like a Spicy Pineapple Mezcal Margarita (with an actual jalapeño popsicle in it) and the dramatic smoke-filled Breaking Bad. They’re also pouring some of our favorite local brews – Fulton, Surly, Pryes, Modest – so if beer is more your thing, you’re covered.
Food & Drink
And because you know I’m here for the food, let’s talk menu. Puttshack isn’t phoning it in with frozen nachos and sad pretzels. They’ve got over 100 chef-crafted recipes, from sharable bites to full entrées, and even some Minnesota-inspired items like the Minnesota Tailpipe (a chicken & wild rice soup-inspired spring roll!). Bonus: $1 from every Tailpipe sold goes to HopeKids, supporting families with children facing life-threatening medical conditions.

How it Works
But the thing I’m most excited about? Their brand-new Challenge Hole Suite Experience – a private 90-minute session where you and your friends can take on six different mini golf games in one dedicated space. It’s like Topgolf, but for mini golf lovers. Perfect for girls’ night, birthday parties, or when you just need to blow off steam after carpool duty.
When & Where…
Puttshack officially opens to the public at 4 PM on Wednesday, September 24. You can start making reservations on September 10 at puttshack.com/minneapolis. If you want to be extra on top of things (you know who you are), sign up for their Puttshack Perks and you’ll score a free game.
So whether you’re looking for a creative date night, a spot to take out-of-town visitors, or just a fun weekend adventure with the kids, Puttshack North Loop is about to become your new go-to.
See you on the course — I’ll be the one celebrating every hole-in-one like I just won the Masters.
Hearts,
Sarah
