{Sponsored} Cascade Platinum Pacs a Punch: Review & Instagram Contest Announcement!

Cascade Platinum PacsDisclosure: I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for Cascade. I received a product sample to facilitate my review and a promotional item as a thank you for participating.

I recently had the opportunity to try out Cascade’s Platinum Pacs for my dishwasher. Typically, my dish washing routine was as follows:

  1. Rinse (and sometimes scrub) each dish before placing in dishwasher
  2. Add a scoop of my homemade dishwashing detergent into the container
  3. Add a scoop of rinse aid to the bottom of the dishwasher
  4. Run the cycle
  5. Some would have to return into the sink and soak, others could be put away

At first, we were not thrilled with the performance of my homemade detergent (recipe from Pinterest) as it didn’t seem to really get it all clean, and the dishes certainly were not sparkling by any means. But, over time, this came to be the norm and the hubby and I just accepted it.

That is, until we tried the Cascade Platinum pacs. I told my hubby that we’d be trying these out for a little bit to see if we could tell the difference.

We did.

We saw a big difference. After running the cycle for the very first time with the Platinum pacs, when we unloaded the dishwasher, not even one dish needed a second rinse.

The glasses looked phenomenal, sparkly and clear (something we hadn’t seen for a long time) and even our dishwasher itself looked clean! It had gotten a kind of yellow color and it’s now white! That’s how well these little pacs clean. As I mentioned in the title, the Cascade Platinum pacs pack a punch πŸ™‚

I thought, yes, that was one time. Let’s see if it can hold that kind of performance after repeated washes. Sure enough, every single time, we had no problem dishes – just crystal clean tableware and an even cleaner dishwasher!

Fun Facts About Cascade Platinum Pacs

My glasses after washing with Cascade. Please note the glass in the background had a sticker on the bottom still and that’s what you’re seeing on the top of it.

I was surprised to learn that these pacs have a “triple action recipe” that is actually designed to clean not only your dishes, but your dishwasher walls as well (you can also use a dishwasher cleaner to remove existing buildup too).

The pacs are made to power through tough stuck-on food even after 24 hours! That in itself is a feat, but the pacs are also made to eliminate pre-washing your dishes and deliver an exceptional shine after the cycle is run. Very impressive, and I couldn’t speak higher for how well it really held to these truths!

Cascade Platinum also has incorporated some innovative technology. Here are a few facts that are particularly interesting about the makeup of Cascade Platinum pacs:

  • Increased enzyme power to deliver the tough cleaning power that is needed.
  • Liquid-top dual surfactant system to deliver that amazing sparkle and shine in your dishes and dishwasher.
  • A specially designed chelant and polymer system helps to prevent any hard-water film build-up on your dishwasher walls, glasses and dishes.
  • This same chelant is also designed to fight any Calcium that might come in with the hard-water or food and helps to give that film-free appearance after each wash.

Clean Dishes Make Food Look Great

cascade platinum pacWhen you really stop to think about it, would you rather eat a gourmet meal off of a sparkling, shining dish – or a dull one? I think most everyone would say sparkling. It takes your meal from looking blah to wow! Especially in the age where everyone seems to be putting photos of their meal on Instagram and Facebook. You want your presentation to look top notch, and that goes not only into cooking the meal, but also what you present the meal on. I know that I can see a big difference in our plates now for sure.

Gail Simmons, a Top Chef judge and editor for Food+Wine magazine, has partnered with Cascade to talk about why the presentation of your food is just as critical as the preparation of your food.

She recommends using Platinum for the ultimate presentation of your food, and says, β€œThe easiest recipes pop with unexpected, gourmet presentations. Drizzle bright sauces on sparkling white plates or layer desserts in crystal-clean glassware. Keep your presentation sparkling with Cascade Platinum,
which keeps dishes perfect for anytime entertaining and impromptu guests.”
