I recently discovered an amazing website that is right up my alley in regards to fashion and savvy shopping! I want to introduce to you guys, Lendperk!! The easiest way to describe Lendperk to you is to say it is the Netflix of dresses! Interested in hearing more? You should be, this concept is phenomenal, and I’m in love with it. Let me share a little bit more about Lendperk.
What is Lendperk?
Lendperk is a company that gives you the chance to find new fashion brands and rent their dresses. These aren’t just any dresses either, no, these beautiful dresses are ones that you’d regularly find at Nordstrom, ASOS, etc.

How does it work?
Gone are the days of buying a new dress for different fancy occasions (weddings, graduations, bridal showers, baby showers, company parties, the list goes on.) Instead, you can rent a gorgeous dress for as little as $20/month. You definitely couldn’t buy much of a dress with $20, especially one that is modern and in style and uber-chic!
Want more than one dress a month? That’s fine too! You get an even better deal if you decide to up the ante and get 2 dresses a month for only $34.
If you have a lot of work functions, lots of friends getting married, or just love to wear dresses, then you can get the Unlimited monthly plan! For only $49.99, you will get to choose as many dresses as you want each month with no limit. How amazing is that!?
What if I don’t need a dress one month?
The best part is this, you can roll over your unused dress to the next month! Let’s say you don’t have any occasions in May, but you have two weddings in June. Roll over your dress and have a new dress for each wedding!
You can also cancel anytime you want and restart whenever too, there is no obligation to commit.

Yes, I got to take my pick of one of the dresses. This worked out extremely well because I had a special event (Mamapalooza – holla!) that I needed a chic outfit for. Now if you know me, you know that I hate spending money. Instead of buying a high-end dress for $100+, I got to rent one of Lendperk’s fabulous dresses. I chose this Minuet Blue Colorblock dress 
I got the dress just a couple days after I picked it out online. It arrived in a nice package and it looked stunning, and I even told my husband how I couldn’t believe it wasn’t wrinkled or anything. It was ready to wear! I hung it up until the big day, and found some matching shoes and a belt that I already owned. Here’s my amateur-photo shoot, which consisted of my husband and my iphone…
I could not believe how many compliments I received in this dress!! It looked cute online, but it looked even better in person! The colors just really popped, and it was just perfect for a nice spring day in Minnesota.
After the event was over, I came home and changed into sweats (er, duh!) Lendperk had sent me a self-addressed, pre-paid envelope to send the dress back in. Easy peasy! I popped it in my mailbox the next day and that was it! No cleaning, no address-hunting, no post office visits; no work.

Ridgedale’s Mamapalooza Recap: Makeover Edition 2013
Well I had quite the end to last week. If you remember, I mentioned the Mamapalooza Makeover contest that Ridgedale Center was putting on. Well I received the name of the woman that I would be styling for Saturday and her name was Alexis! We met up on Friday to get shopping, or as I joked with her, it wasn’t just shopping, it was shopping boot camp because I meant business!
Before we went from store to store looking for the perfect outfit for her, I showed her a few looks that would work beautifully for her body shape (she is a pear). Here is some similar images for images of pear-shaped fashion ideas:
Then we decided to start at Coldwater Creek because that was her favorite store. They had some really cute clothes there that she liked, but they had more of a casual chic approach. Alexis is looking to impress at job interviews, so we wanted to give her a professional and modern look. We checked out New York & Company because they’ve got a great collection of professional clothes for women. Next was The Limited who also had tons of options, plus lots of cute blazers to pair with any type of work outfit. Here are some fun shots I got of the selection at The Limited.

I absolutely loved their fun spring colors, but they were classy at the same time, if that makes sense. They didn’t take bright florescents that would look tacky at the office. No, they had an awesome selection, and we even ended up finding her skirt and top here!

Moving forward, we had to find a navy cardigan to go with her ensemble. So we headed to Macy’s where we lucked out! We found a Jones New York navy cardigan that looked so cute on her! Then we only had shoes and accessories left to scout for.
There are lots of fun stores at Ridgedale to shop for accessories at. It was the first time I had been into Francesca’s and that was so neat in there! It has a small boutique feel but with lots of fun, fashionable accessories like shoes, bags, jewelry and lots more. We didn’t find her accessories there, but I just had to mention the store because it’s something different!
We did end up finding her accessories at Aldo (my go-to for bags and other cute accessories). There, we found her some cute gold hoop earrings, and a red and gold small shoulder bag. Her favorite color was red, so I know she will be using that tons!
For shoes, we managed to find some super cute picks at Aerosoles. I loooove their shoes because they are comfy, sensible but also fashionable and cute. We fell in love with a pair of beige and red pumps but they didn’t have her size, so we ended up with red pumps that she loved, and they worked with the outfit!
That completed her look on my behalf, but then she went and seen Lauren at Aveda New Reflections right there at the mall. She gave her a cut and color to ‘dye’ for. See what I did there? 
Anyways, she looked amazing and the transformation was beautiful! Here is her before and after:
Alexis’ Mamapalooza Makeover Before & After
We presented the contest makeover winners on Saturday at the Mamapalooza event. It was so much fun! They had a whole lineup of activities and giveaways, food, wine sampling, mini-makeovers from Sephora, a spring fashion show, and all kinds of fun stuff! I took a few photos of all the adorable spring shoes that were in the fashion show:
Finally, our big moment came!! Here is me on stage with Alexis, going over her outfit and where we found all her beautiful pieces! Doesn’t she look gorgeous??

Introducing: Scrubz Morning Rain Sugar Body Scrub
For this post, I was able to try out an all natural sugar body scrub, Morning Rain by Scrubz. I knew this was going to be a good one, because as soon as I opened the box that it was shipped in, I could smell it. It – was – AMAZING. I’m in love with the scent. I wish I could accurately describe it or give you a virtual scratch-and-sniff but here’s my best attempt: It smells like how I imagine a crisp, clear, and cool waterfall would smell on a tropical island with just a hint of fresh greens. Wonderful, right?? Mmmmm…
Okay, now that I’ve spent a whole paragraph confessing my love for the smell, let’s move on to the scrub itself. The directions tell you to apply to damp body and face then rub in a circular motion. This helps to scrub that dead skin off and polish up the healthy skin! You pat yourself dry and allow the natural oils to help moisturize your skin. I know my usual gripe about exfoliators is that they take the skin but don’t moisturize. This one really does moisturize! It leaves a light, nice smelling, natural, moisturizing oil to soothe and rejuvenate your skin. Did I mention this smells amazing yet? Mmmmm….

Dorfman Pacific Hats: Wearable Sun Protection
I recently got the opportunity to try out one of Oprah’s favorite things – I know, you should be jealous. What was this favorite thing of hers? It’s the Scala roll-up visor. These nifty hats fold up and are so light-weight that you can bring them anywhere with you – in your purse, your luggage, your beach bag; anywhere! Let me share a little more with you. (And for you curious cats out there, here’s the link to Oprah’s review of this same hat!)
This year, Dorfman Pacific has expanded it’s wearable sun protection to the Scala and Tropical Trends brand collection. With summer right around the corner, you’ll want to be sure that your face, head and shoulders are protected. These fashionable and practical hats can do just that!
Different Styles of Hats
Dorfman Pacific has a whole lineup of styles, designs and colors. Choose hats with buckles, bows, ties, and more. Plus styles like visors (like mine!), fedoras, bucket shapes, caps, floppies, safari looks, boonies and large sun brims up to 10 inches!
Materials Used
These hats are wonderful. The one that I got to sample was made of 100% paper braid, which was super light-weight and breathable. Other materials that are used for their hats include cotton, sewn ribbon, raffia, toyo and more.

As mentioned before, these neat hats have the ability to fold up and be placed anywhere. I used to have a floppy sun hat and as much as I loved it, I didn’t love how inconvenient it was to bring it places. It took up room that I didn’t have and I couldn’t adjust the size to make it tighter (and the wind tended to catch it and take it). But not this hat! This one rolls up and goes right into my bag. Beyond that, the velcro closure in back allows me to make it larger or smaller so that it fits perfectly to my head and isn’t too loose or too tight. Love it!

- Has a self tie to keep secure when its folded
Introducing the Brimmed Hat (LP157)
Another hat in this collection is the pretty brimmed hat that features a floppy 4 inch brim. It is made of the same material as my roll-up hat (paper braid) and has a self-sizing tie to adjust to your personal head size.
This hat comes in a neutral color with four different color options for trim, and boasts a UPF sun protection factor of 50 . Plus, much like the roll-up style, this hat can be stored in a bag and bounces back in a matter of seconds.
